Summer Spending Spree Top and Flop... (so far)

Posted by in United , transfer , tevez , serie-A , ronaldo , real madrid , Man City , La Liga , kaka , juventus , inter milan , ibrahimovic , Football , EPL , diego , chelsea , barcelona , arsenal , ac milan

Let's start the transfer season with the EPL clubs, the league that's well known for their power on spending money like thin air. Man Utd has lost Ronaldo and Tevez and they got Owen on a free transfer not so impressive so far. While Chelsea signed Carlito in the place of Guus. On the other side of London there's Arsenal. Losing Adebayour or should I call him AdePAYMORE to the Citizen, the Gunners have signed Thomas Vermaelen and are still gunning for the Albanian destroyer Lori Cana and the French rocket Marwan Chammakh, a deal that if takes place will certainly put the Gunners up for the League and CL challenge this coming season. Not surprisingly the Sheik Manchester City seemingly will be the biggest threat for the EPL BIG FOUR, they've had the most impressive transfer so far with Tevez, Adebayour, Santa Cruz and mention the rest by yourself, the one thing I cant understand is with all that signings and yet they keep Mark Hughes at their disposal? It just doesnt make sense to me.

On the Spain Capital, which we all know who the big spender is has loaned and spent more than 200million euros in order to get Kaka and Ronaldo (and perhaps starts selling t-shirt and merchandising to pay the loan back to the banks) While Barca is aiming for a Eto'o+Hleb (on loan)+40M swap with Ibrahimovic. A Deal that I'd personally say worth the money.

On the peninsula, the Italian clubs has had quite a decent transfer season so far. As most of the journalists and footballers alike has called this season as the Calcio Rennaissance. Inter Milan captured Diego Milito and Thiago Motta from Genoa and also Lucio from Bayern Munchen and only losing Maxwell. AC Milan still suffers from the Berlusconi fever, they signed Cissokho just to sent him back hours later and they still cant afford the 16.7M price tag for Brazil'sno.1 striker Luis Fabiano. It'll be a sad period for AC and its fans. On the North of the Peninsula, Juventus has had the most interesting transfer campaign so far, losing Mellberg to Olympiakos and Marchionni to Fiorentina they've snatched 2 Brazilian Champions in Diego and Felipe Melo while Fabio Cannavaro returned to the Old Lady on a free transfer, report says Juventus is aiming a swoop with Barcelona for 15M+Martin Caceres for Juve's Poulsen.
